Endodontic is a branch of dentistry science which deals with root canal treatment. This treatment saves the teeth from permanent removal. People are often tensed of the term "Root Canal". Points to be noted before going for root canal treatment:
• Food to be consumed before root canal treatment - Any meal can be taken before going for treatment. IV sedation will numb the tooth area and prevent us to eat for hours. If food is eaten then it can affect the treated tooth area. It is good to be eaten after the effect of sedation is gone. • Physical fitness is required – A minor cough and cold is not a problem but if you are seriously ill not possible to lie down for a long time then appointments should be postponed • Self - medication should be avoided- Painkillers should not be taken before appointment it may affect the treatment. Regular medicines given by other physicians can be taken. • A dentist should be informed with the patient’s medical history- If the patient is allergic to a specific group of medicine like sulfur or penicillin, should be informed to Melvern Endodontics dentist. If the patient has diabetes, then it must be informed to the dentist. Medical history of the patient helps to diagnose patient effectively. • Sterilization of instruments and maintaining hygiene – Dental assistants should wear gloves to avoid infection. Instruments should be sterilized used for root canal treatment. • The medical test should be performed – Radiographs and X-Ray should be performed before root canal treatment to know the damage of root pulp. Isolation of the tooth should be done after test performed. Post-treatment of root canal The tooth where the root canal is done should be taken proper care. A regular visit to the dentist is compulsory to make sure that the affected area is cured. Brushing two times is required to maintain the teeth.
